Text messages
Last updated 26 September 2026.
Every text comes from 1-866-907-SIGN — (866) 907-7446, our own toll-free messaging number, verified with the carriers. One number, every message, so a recipient who does not recognise it can look it up and find this page.
Sign Sealer sends transactional messages only. A link to a document you have been asked to sign, one reminder if you have not, and a confirmation when everyone has. No marketing, no promotions, no newsletters — and not "not yet": the engine refuses to record consent for a marketing purpose, so it cannot send one by accident.
Who is texting you
Sign Sealer sends on behalf of the business you are dealing with — the campground, the outfitter, the gym, the contractor. Their name is in the message. We are the platform they use to send it, in the same way an email provider is.
What the messages say
The document itself
A link to a document the person has been asked to sign, sent because the business they are dealing with asked us to send it.
Sign Sealer: Sign Sealer Demo has sent you "Kayak Rental Waiver" to sign: https://signsealer.com/s/xxxx Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help.
A reminder
One reminder about a document already sent and not yet signed. Not a sequence: one.
Sign Sealer: a reminder from Sign Sealer Demo — "Kayak Rental Waiver" is still waiting for your signature: https://signsealer.com/s/xxxx Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help.
Signing code
A one-time code sent to the number a signing link went to, entered before the person consents. Sent only after a link was sent to that number.
Sign Sealer: your code to sign is 482913. It expires in 10 minutes. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help.
The confirmation
Confirmation that everyone has signed, with the code the person can check the agreement by.
Sign Sealer: everyone has signed "Kayak Rental Waiver" for Sign Sealer Demo. Check it any time with code ABCD-1234 at https://signsealer.com/verify Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help.
Other messages from the same number
Not sent to a signer, and not sent on a business's behalf — but they leave the same number, so they are listed here too.
A sign-in code, to a business's own staff
Not to a signer. Somebody who works at the business asked to sign in to their own Sign Sealer account by text, and the code goes to a number they verified on that account themselves. Nobody else can cause one to be sent.
Sign Sealer: your sign-in code is 482913. It expires in 10 minutes. If you did not ask for it, ignore this text.
How consent is obtained
By the business, not by us, at the point where they take your number — a booking form, a registration, the counter. They tell us the number, the purpose, where they obtained it and the exact wording you agreed to, and we record all four. A message cannot be sent to a number with no such record: the engine marks it suppressed and says why.
There are two places that tick appears, and both are worded the same way: on a business's own booking form, and on the Sign Sealer form the person fills in when the business sends them one.
On a Sign Sealer form
The person types their own number and chooses how they want the document. This is the exact label beside the box, word for word, on the live form linked below — where the business doing the sending is our own public demo account, Sign Sealer Demo. On a real send it is the name of the business that asked us to send:
Text me the link, so I can read and sign it on my phone. I agree to receive text messages from Sign Sealer Demo via Sign Sealer: the link, at most one reminder if I have not signed, and a confirmation when everyone has signed. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase. We will not share or sell your mobile information with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to opt out. Terms: https://signsealer.com/legal/terms Privacy: https://signsealer.com/legal/privacy-policy
That string is not a description of the tick. It is the tick, and it is what we store as the consent record's wording, so the words agreed to and the words kept are the same words.
Two acts, not one. Choosing Text me the link says where the document should go. The tick that appears below it is the agreement to be texted, and it is a separate, unticked box: the delivery choice on its own does not record consent, and the form refuses to text anybody who has not ticked it. Consent bundled into a delivery preference is not consent, and we do not treat it as any. The box is shown only while texting is the choice, so nobody who chose to sign on the device in front of them is asked to agree to a text.
You can read both on a live form: /f/demo/waiver.

/f/demo/waiver with "Text me the link" chosen, which is when the consent box appears: below the choice, separate from it, and empty. Nothing is pre-ticked.On a business's own booking form
Where the business takes the number before we are involved. This is the recommended wording, and it is also the floor: a disclosure missing any of these is refused when the business tries to record it.
I agree to receive text messages from [Your business name] via Sign Sealer about documents I need to read and sign: the signing link, at most one reminder if I have not signed, and a confirmation when everyone has signed. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase. We will not share or sell your mobile information with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to opt out. Consent is recorded for the disclosed transactional signing-message purpose. The wording names the messages that may be sent — a signing link, at most one reminder, and a confirmation when everyone has signed — and one tick authorises that set, because somebody who agreed to those three agreed to all three. Behind it the engine keeps a record per message kind against the same wording, so a text can always be traced to the sentence that authorised it. That consent is never used for marketing or for any unrelated messaging: the engine refuses the marketing purpose by name.
STOP
Reply STOP to any message and it stops immediately. No confirmation step and no question: an unsubscribe that asks a question is an unsubscribe that does not work.
A STOP does two things, and the second is the one that matters: it suppresses the number, and it revokes every consent recorded against it. The business cannot record a new attestation to put you back — they are not the one who withdrew it. If you change your mind you opt in again yourself.
HELP
Reply HELP and you get this, word for word:
Sign Sealer: We send document-signing messages on behalf of businesses using our service. For help, contact support@signsealer.com. Reply STOP to opt out. Msg & data rates may apply.
Frequency and cost
Message frequency varies and depends on how many documents you are sent. In practice it is one message per document, plus at most one reminder, plus one confirmation. Message and data rates may apply.
What we do with your number
We will not share or sell your mobile information with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. Nor with affiliates, and nor is it sold. Your number is used to deliver the messages described above and for nothing else. It reaches our messaging carrier in order to be delivered, and no further — see our privacy policy and subprocessor list.
If you are the business
These obligations are mostly yours, and switching texting on means taking them on:
- Obtain consent at the point you take the number, with wording that says what you will send, that frequency varies, that rates may apply, and how to stop.
- Record it here — the number, the purpose, where you got it, and the wording. That record is what we can produce if anybody asks.
- Do not record consent on somebody's behalf after they have opted out. The engine refuses it, and it would be the wrong thing anyway.
